Who we are
WdBasic Limited (“WdBasic”, “we”) is the controller of the personal data described here. Registered in England and Wales, company number 09989068, registered office 13 Freeland Park, Wareham Road, Poole, Dorset, BH16 6FA. Contact: hello@wdbasic.com.
What we collect and why
- Your name, email and website address, when you ask for an audit. We use them to produce and send the audit and to follow up about it. Lawful basis: steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- An access key for your WordPress site (an application password that WordPress creates when you approve the connection). It is encrypted as soon as we receive it and only our audit systems can decrypt it. We use it to read your site’s settings and content, and to publish the changes you approve.
- Data about your website: its public pages, settings and, once connected, Google Search Console figures. This is mostly business information rather than personal data.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of providers to run the service, under contracts that protect your data:
- Vercel (website hosting) and GitHub (where our systems run and store client configuration).
- Anthropic (the AI that analyses your site and drafts proposals).
- Resend (sending emails), Google (Search Console) and DataForSEO (search volume data).
Some of these providers are in the United States; transfers rely on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK–US data bridge.
How long we keep it
If you don’t become a client, we delete your details and the access key within 90 days of your audit. Clients’ data is kept while the service is active and for up to 12 months afterwards, except invoices, which we keep for six years.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, its correction or deletion, or object to how we use it, by writing to hello@wdbasic.com. You can revoke our access to your site at any time under Users, Profile, Application Passwords in WordPress. If you are not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
